The Catacombs is filled with Latin quotes. and it took 
me a while to translate them into English. These quotes are supposed to make you think about death and living a memorable life. I think they chose well in using Latin for them since Latin is the root language to most of the romance languages including french. I find it fitting, since Latin is considered a dead language since no one speaks it anymore. So Dead language for dead people. Though this is most certainly more modern Latin not traditional Roman Latin since these quotes have punctuation which Romans didn’t have or varied greatly between author.
