What I Will Miss

I am writing this during my last night in Paris. While I am ready to go home now, this trip gave me everything that I was expecting and more. Here is a very short list of some of the things that I will be missing when I get back to the US.

  1. Casement windows. These are everywhere in France and almost nowhere in America. It had been great to open them up to get fresh air, something that is hard to do as much with a sash window.
  2. A pre-paid metro card. I am not sure if other places allow you to buy a metro card at a set price and use it as much as you want, but it was very freeing to be able to move around the city without worrying about cost.
  3. A great public transportation system. The RER and metro lines alone are amazing in Paris, adding on reliable busses and trams and you can almost always get anywhere in the city very conveniently.
  4. The food. The wine, coffee, bread, and other food that I had this month where all amazing. I will miss them a lot.

  1. Hey Jenna, I feel you when you say you’ll miss all of those things. Personally I’m going to miss the pedestrian friendly roads the most, it’s nice to feel appreciated by planners. Good luck in the future, I can’t wait to see what you do!
