You have to admit this is pretty cool!
This past week has been so exhausting and I’m not 100% sure why, maybe it’s all the day trips I’ve taken adding up or maybe it’s all the walking but boy am I tired! Our most recent daytrip to Troyes was probably the most influential and helpful towards what I needed for this classes final project though! Troyes, a small town about an hour and a half away from Paris, is one of the major medieval towns still standing and a semi-big tourist spot for people wanting to get away from the big city. I had one goal in mind over this daytrip, see what exactly the buildings were constructed out of because that would be really beneficial to me regarding my final project. Most medieval buildings tend to be made of wood and nothing much besides that but I really needed to see what material was made for the parts in between the support columns, as it would help me work on the lego build I plan on doing for my final project.

Look at that color POP!
Thankfully, after getting up close and personal with the buildings, I was able to not only see that the base of the buildings were made of sandstone, but the upper portions were also made of sandstone that was painted, adding a little pop of color towards the streets. Why were the bases not painted as well? I’m not sure! Although I do love the accents of the stone colored bottom against the painted tops, along with the wood detailing the support and frame of the structure, I do wonder why they didn’t just paint the full building as opposed to half. While I only went to Troyes with one specific goal in mind, I found the whole town to be interesting, making me want to go back on my own some day in the distant future

I also really enjoyed visiting Troye; even though it was a day trip it was a breath of fresh air to et out of the city to experience a smaller town of France. I am excited to see your final project. Have fun traveling!
