Dogs Without Leashes in Paris, A Thrilling Saga

I’ve had a few posts now bashing some aspects of French culture/stupid rules. But now as the trip draws to a close there is one thing about French culture that I can absolutely get behind. Dogs without leashes. The first time I saw one, I was amazed, they just trot along and know enough not to go into the street.

Why is this a thing? Maybe it’s the much more pedestrian friendly sidewalks of Paris leading to dogs getting to walk free. Or maybe French dogs are just inherently more sophisticated and don’t need someone to tell them to not run into the street and not get hit. Both are plausible answers.

We actually got to pet this one! It was amazing.
