Amy and I saw Spider-Man: Far from Home this week. It was a wild ride. The train was super delayed, so we ran as fast as our burned out bodies and sore knees could take us, which was probably more like a brisk walking speed now that I look back on it. In a call back to my first post about struggling with the language, Amy had a slip up when ordering popcorn. We finally entered the theater and started freaking out because every trailer was in French, even the American movies were dubbed. We made a large miscalculation. When the movie finally started and they characters spoke in English, we praised the heavens.
Spider-Man: Far from Home is about Peter Parker and his classmates going to Europe over the summer to study science. Peter’s friend, Ned suggests that they’re going to have the time of their lives as bachelors in Europe because “Europeans LOVE Americans!” The theater erupted in laughter. This line literally got the biggest reaction during the entire movie. Amy and I sat there like

We were the outsiders. We were very far from home, in a huge theater with French subtitles. Like Spider-Man, we made a fool of ourselves with our existence alone, and it was super, duper fun.

Wow I love the meme choice, how did you think of it. It was intense suspense waiting to see if it would be in French or not.
Excellent use of the meme. Also props to you for venturing to the movies in a foreign country.
