I have officially been in France for 3 whole days and it feels like a whirlwind. The first day in Paris was a lot of rain, taking the metro by myself with a 47 pound bag and a big carry on (probably not my best decision) and waiting for wifi because I’m very much addicted to my phone. The next two days exploring Paris have been amazing, figuring out the metro has been so exciting and I’m so interested in every little detail. Like why sometimes you have to press a button to open the door or why you only have to swipe out at certain places. I can’t stop geeking out about everything here. A 13th century Bishop’s hook and a 12th century baptismal font (pictured above) took my breathe away. (I’m pretty sure it was a baptismal font, but the signs were in French so everything’s a little bit of a guessing game) Every little detail of architecture also has me so fascinated, I get so wrapped up in the fact that streets we walk on and the buildings we go into are older than the country I live. I’m also loving that everyone else on the trip is geeking out just as hard next to me, which reassures me I’m on the right trip and in the right major at the right school. Paris has been wonderful so far, even if I still don’t know half the food I’m eating because every menu is in French (guessing game). Now if only there was AC everywhere I don’t think I would go back home.
