As I’m getting ready to leave, one of the things I really found funny while here was the use of American things/names to sell things. This was normally the use of a place in America on clothes or a restaurant to make it look ‘cool’.
For restaurants, I found two places in Pairs and Brussels that used New York in some way. There was also a Hawaii-themed restaurant in Brussels, and a place I’ve been seeing around Paris called Indiana (the most exciting state to name a restaurant after).

Also, there seem to be some food items that are marketed as American. I have found bread for making ‘American sandwiches’, and New York hot dogs sold by the Eiffel Tower.

The last main place I’ve seen American names used is the names of cities on clothes. I think that this is trying to reference American college sweatshirts.

I am sure that the US has some version of this with other countries. That said, as an American it was funny to see cafes called Indiana and sweaters saying Chicago.
