The Final Countdown

It feels like I got to Paris yesterday after catching my 7 am flight from Germany, but it also feels like I’ve been here all summer. Today marks T-7 days until I fly back home to the U.S for the last fleeting moments of summer.

In the past few weeks sometimes it seems that I’ve done everything there is to do here. But that is absolutely the incorrect mindset of someone who is leaving in 7 days. Paris is a giant city and you could live here for years and still miss something. Below is a comprehensive list of how I want to spend my final days in Paris, France.

  1. Parc des Buttes-Chaumont– I have seen so many pictures of this park and it looks beautiful. There is so much greenery that it’s hard to believe it’s still in the city. And for bonus points there’s a temple on top of the cliff! Which is generally interesting!
  2. Atelier des Lumieres– A digital art installation in an old foundry. Need I say more? Oh, also it they play classical music over it (I think).
  3. Le Relais De L’Entrecote– my friends who have been here have told me to come here, my family has told me to come here- so I think if I don’t I will be a disappoint to all of them. I promised I would get steak and frites even if it was the last thing I did- life is SO hard.
  4. Sit by the Seine- I just want to sit. Pretend I’m in a film. That film is Ratatouille.
  5. Statue of Liberty– If I didn’t, I would be a fake National Treasure 2 fan.
  6. The Moulin Rouge– Again, if I didn’t, I would be a fake Ewan McGregor fan.
  7. Just walking around the city– that is my favorite part about being here. Walking with no agenda other than going where your eye catches interest. Frantically hitting all the places you want to see can get tiresome, and it’s important to remember doing something so simple can be so memorable too. AKA THE RATATOUILLE WALKING TOUR.

Culture is everything, kids.

I will definitely be apart of the Ratatouille walking tour. Amy and I like to go on ‘bus tours,’ where we go on a random bus and get off at a random stop to explore and eat, I would recommend it if your feet are tired!
