The day was Sunday, July 14th. Jessica and I decided to try and see if we could find one of these fabled Parisian markets. Using a handy tourist booklet we were given at Versailles, we found one that stated it was the biggest flea market in all of Europe.
We obviously chose that one. We went all the way to metro stop Porte de Clignancourt. When we got out of the metro we walked around trying to figure out where this flea market was. We found one sketchy ‘market’ that sold almost exclusively sold knockoff designer items. It took us longer than it should have to figure out this was not the right place.
Next we tried some random outdoor mall that sold antiques.

As you can tell by the picture, it was still not right.
Finally we found what I think was actually the flea (antique??) market
.
This was one of the entrances into the market.

While most of the stores in this little market specialized in antiques, there were a few like the one pictured above that had random oddities (E.T. mask anyone?), but most of the items you’d have to shell out the big bucks for – so it’d be great for the Gen X and older crowd.
In conclusion sometimes you think you’re lost but somehow end up at the expensive flea (antique??) market anyways.
