Musee d’Orsay_Day 18

I do love impressionist Art is by far my favorite art movement. Nothing could be more fitting then seeing such famous mid 1800’s paintings in Paris where impressionist art began.  In a converted train station built during the same era.  My favorite Impressionist Painter, is Edgar Degas. Degas is most famous for painting dancers. I suppose I feel as though I can relate to his work being a dancer myself.  The piece were he has painted a dance class reminds me of the time I spend in a dance studio practicing the simple drills over and over again. It is always easy to find the instructor in a lot of these works because they always have a cane. I am never quite sure that Dance instructors ever really need the cane for walking since most I know who have a cane, use their cane to push your feet if they aren’t turned out enough. The instructor’s cane is more of a tool sparing them from having to bend over to fix their pupil’s feet with their hands.
